Age Requirement: This class is designed for dogs at least 5-months-old.
Prerequisite: For the safety of all of the dogs in our care, dogs who enroll MUST have graduated from an AGDT course in the last six months OR have written approval from an In-Person Private Training Session to sign up!
Location: AGDT 76 West 85th Street APT A.
Cost: $125 per session; $999 for a 10 session package.
*Dogs without i.d. tags cannot be taken for day school and will have to be sent home. It’s against health code rules and it’s just plain not safe.*
**If your dog is reactive on leash or you have concerns about them walking safely with us, tell us (btw…we can help with this, but day school’s not the best place to do that).**
Each Day School starts with a mentally enriching small group training walk. During the walk, our skilled trainers and assistants will guide your dog through mentally stimulating training games that instill and reinforce awesome leash manners while improving all of their known cues and good behaviors in the presence of real world city distractions. Following the walk, we return to our training center playroom, where play-based training continues. Our trainers lead the dogs in enriched learning games and trainer-led socialization time. Each week we have new themes, games, and activities that complement the skills you have practiced in class and at home. At the end of each Day School, you will leave with a report card & an adorable picture of your dog!
We invented day school to give caring humans a well-earned break, while ensuring that their dogs are making great progress in their education throughout the morning or afternoon. Leave it to us, and go have a coffee or something.
Day School is meant to complement training done at home. Take a peek at your report card each day for ideas about things to continue to build on during your own walks and playtime with your dog.
Important Note: This service is NOT A GOOD FIT for dogs who are reactive toward other dogs or new humans. It’s also not great for dogs who bark a lot.
We love those dogs too, and we don’t want them to be unhappy or stressed, so we will call you to pick them up and advise you to enroll them in private training instead so they can get the training that’s best for them.
Dogs are individuals and group training is NOT for all dogs. We will never continue a dog in a service that isn’t right for them, so Be ready on your dog’s first day of school, to come pick them up if we call
